Listed Georgian house overlooking Lyme Bay, with solar photovoltaic panels on veranda, plastic film and draught proofing on windows, wood burning stove, cob oven in garden and various ‘permaculture'-inspired tweaks in garden e.g. green roof, Heath Robinson rainwater collection, and a bottle wall.

Hugh, an artist designer, & Candida, who works in community sustainability, came to Lyme Regis with the intention of building an eco house - instead of which they exchanged their dream for a Georgian villa which is a Listed building. They have retrofitted as much as Planning will allow in these circumstances. Thus plastic film on windows – and draught proofing – become important elements along with more technical features where the rules allow.
